Mabroom Dates تمر المبروم

The name Mabroom refers to the fruit's long, twisted-looking shape — as though it had been carefully spun. The cultivar arose in the orchards of Al-Madinah and spread to Al-Qassim and the Hijaz valleys, remaining a fixture of refined Madinah hospitality.

A smooth reddish-brown skin wraps a dense flesh that rewards slow chewing, with moderate sweetness and hints of cinnamon and dry caramel. Naturally semi-dry, it keeps for months without refrigeration — a quality merchants and travellers have always prized.

Mabroom commands some of the highest prices among Saudi dates on export markets and is often packed in gift boxes alongside Ajwa and Safawi. Its window is relatively late: it reaches markets in late summer and continues into autumn.
