1. Legal Framework
Dates Oasis complies with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and its Implementing Regulations issued by the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA). We collect the minimum data necessary for specific, lawful purposes.
2. Data We Collect
Account data: name, email, password (hashed) or Google identifier, farm name and region. Yield data: variety, quantity, harvest geo-coordinates, harvest date. Contact messages: name, email, category, message text. Technical data: IP address solely for abuse protection and rate limiting.
3. Purposes
Operating your account and issuing provenance certificates, displaying farmer and farm names on the public verification page (never the email), responding to contact messages, protecting the platform, and improving content in aggregate.
4. What We Never Do
We never display any user's email in public pages or APIs, never sell personal data, and never use it for marketing without explicit consent. Dashboard and verification pages are excluded from search-engine indexing.
5. Third Parties
A self-hosted bot-protection mechanism (a proof-of-work challenge computed in your browser, with no data sent to third parties) and Google sign-in via a managed authentication provider (we receive only name, email and picture). Yield data is not shared with any third party.
6. Storage & Security
Data is stored in a secured database with hashed passwords, time-limited sessions and sanitisation of submitted content. Data is retained for the life of the account and up to 12 months after closure unless law requires otherwise.
7. Your Rights under PDPL
You have the right to access, correct, request deletion/destruction of your data, withdraw consent and object to processing in the cases provided by law. Submit requests via the contact form under "Data privacy"; we respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies & Local Storage
We use local storage for language, theme and session token, and a secure httpOnly session cookie for Google sign-in. We use no advertising tracking cookies.
